What that buys a visitor is predictability. Cakes, pastries, sandwiches, pizza slices and salads are the same here as in Zagreb, a counter is serving before most places have unlocked, and there is usually one within a few minutes of wherever you are standing. For a proper Dalmatian loaf, walk into a neighbourhood bakery instead.
