Split Activities

Split is the base for the islands rather than a destination you stay put in. Day boats run to Hvar, to Bol and Zlatni rat on Brac, and out to Vis and the Blue Cave on Bisevo, and they leave from the same waterfront the ferries use. Inland, the Cetina canyon behind Omis carries the rafting and canyoning operators, and Marjan and the coast below it are where the kayaking and diving happen. In the old city itself the trade is walking tours of the palace, which is worth an hour with someone who can explain the substructures.
