Girolamo da Santa Croce's 1549 polyptych in the Poljud Franciscan church shows it in a view of the city's western medieval quarter.

The 17th-century Milesi Palace, with its Baroque facade, stands opposite, and Ivan Mestrovic's monument to Marko Marulic stands in front of that palace. The city museum has carried out conservation and restoration work on the tower.
