FAQ

Can you charter a yacht in Split without a licence?

Yes, two ways at Ultra Sailing: book the boat with a skipper, or take a single cabin on a yacht somebody else is running. The third option is the school, which issues the certificate that lets you charter alone.

What sailing courses does Ultra Sailing run?

The ISPA ladder, from Competent Crew through Day Skipper and its fast-track version to Coastal Navigator and Coastal Skipper, with catamaran, gennaker and manoeuvre training alongside. Shore-based and on-water teaching both run.

Where are the Ultra Sailing charter bases?

Split, Trogir, Dubrovnik and Pula. Split and Trogir are the two nearest the airport, which matters on a one-week charter where a transfer day is a day of sailing lost.

What kind of boats does Ultra Sailing charter?

Sailing monohulls and catamarans, with more than fifty named boats across the four bases. A catamaran costs more but gives far more deck and cabin space for a family or two couples sharing.

Does Ultra Sailing run regattas?

Regatta programmes run from a single day up to three days and an advanced level, alongside sport sailing and team building weeks. It is a different use of a charter boat from a cruising week between islands.
